The DZG Vacuum Ribbon Dryer (also known as horizontal ribbon blender dryer) is an advanced vacuum drying system that combines high-efficiency drying, crushing and powder mixing in one fully enclosed unit. As an innovative industrial dryer, this vacuum ribbon dryer delivers 3-5 times higher drying efficiency compared to conventional double cone rotary vacuum dryers of similar specifications.

  1. Drying Principle:  Heat Conduction Heating System + Vacuum Dehydration Mechanism
1. Heat Conduction Heating System
(1) Jacketed Heat Medium Heating
The conical vessel of this vacuum ribbon dryer is equipped with an external heating jacket, through which the following heat transfer media are circulated in the DZG vacuum ribbon drying system:
Hot water
Thermal oil
Low-pressure steam
→ Heat is efficiently transferred to the material through the metal wall surface of this dryer.


 
  1. Ribbon Agitation Heat Transfer
    In this vacuum dryer, the rotating single screw ribbon simultaneously provides:
    Mixing function: Promotes three-dimensional material movement throughout the drying chamber
    Heat transfer function: Direct contact between the metal ribbon surface and material enhances thermal exchange in the ribbon blender dryer
2. Vacuum Dehydration Mechanism
(1) Low-Pressure Evaporation
  →The DZG ribbon dryer enables rapid evaporation at low temperatures, making this vacuum drying equipment ideal for heat-sensitive materials.

(2) Vapor Extraction
The vacuum pump continuously removes:
  • Water vapor (condensed via condenser)
  • Volatile solvents (optional recovery system)
  1. Working Principle
The DZG vacuum ribbon dryer (also called horizontal ribbon dryer) features a heated conical vessel with jacket for hot water, thermal oil or low-pressure steam circulation, maintaining constant wall temperature.
This industrial dryer's operation includes:
  1. A variable-speed motor drives the single spiral ribbon agitator (15-30 rpm) through gear reducer
  2. Material moves upward along the cone wall then falls back by gravity, creating continuous 3D mixing
  3. Efficient heat transfer occurs through:
  • Jacket conduction (primary)
  • Ribbon surface contact (secondary)
(4) Under vacuum (-0.08~-0.095MPa), moisture evaporates at low temperature and is removed by:
  • Water vapor condensation
  • Optional solvent recovery system

Wet materials are loaded into the silo and heated through both the cylinder jacket and hollow ribbon screw, providing 140% heating surface coverage for uniform drying. The cone-shaped drying mixer is available in various working volumes to achieve optimal results. Featuring an upper-drive structure, this dryer combines high-efficiency drying and mixing capabilities with easy maintenance access due to its spacious design.
2. Smooth operation and protect crystal shape:
The DZG vacuum ribbon dryer (also known as conical screw dryer in industrial applications) achieves gentle and efficient drying without auxiliary tools. Its unique conical screw design provides complete material movement through lifting, shearing and dispersing actions, while avoiding unnecessary compression or friction between particles and equipment. This friction-free operation is the key reason why the DZG dryer can perfectly maintain material crystal structure integrity throughout the drying and mixing process.
3. The top drive eliminates the possibility of contamination of the product caused by the shaft seal:
Using top drive,  relative to bottom drive, this device can avoid the following disadvantages:
The stirring paddle must be disassembled with special equipment for cleaning and maintenance
The shaft seal of the stirring paddle adopts a mechanical seal.
4. Low cost of operating energy consumption and high mixing efficiency:
The DZG vacuum ribbon dryer (industrially referred to as conical screw dryer) features a unique motor-driven design where the rotating screw efficiently lifts materials without requiring additional discharge energy. This dryer employs a conical ribbon mixing system that revolves around the central axis of the conical chamber, ensuring thorough agitation of all materials. The screw gradually elevates materials from the bottom to the top of the vessel, allowing them to naturally cascade down in a continuous cycle. This innovative mixing mechanism guarantees homogeneous blending, prevents material agglomeration during drying, and significantly enhances both mixing and drying efficiency.
